brand share

Proportion of the market held by a particular brand. May be based on weight or volume, cash value or number of units sold.

Brand share is amount of dollars spent by consumers on a particular brand as compared to the amount of dollars spent by consumers on all competitive brands in the same category, figured in terms of percentages; also called market share, share of market. Companies set marketing goals to achieve a specific brand share and plan their strategies to meet those goals.
